I first met Carmel in 1997 when we both worked at the Sisters of Mercy in Bardon. I am so sad that Carmel lost her battle which she fought with such courage. Carmel was definitely a women filled with love for Trevor and her wonderful family and she had such love for her God which was a great strength for her. I will miss Carmel and pray that her family and the ones she loved will find peace in the days to come knowing that Carmel loved them so much and was so appreciative of all the love they had for her.

Pleased to follow Angela’s memories I so well remember how you both served us Sisters so lovingly and faithfully in those years at Bardon In the meantime many of our Mercy friends have gone ahead and our numbers here diminished but I know Trevor and family are recipients of the gratitude we feel for the care you both gave us. Life for Carmel is changed but not taken away May your memories keep her close to you all as you grieve her absence

As we gather to farewell Carm today her faithful group of school friends in Rockhampton are gathering in solidarity at the same time. She will forever be our St Marys/ Marian friend whose presence at every gathering added much to our lives. Now today she circles us with strength as she does her husband, children, grandchildren, brother and sisters and their families. Rest now in deep peace Carmel.

Carmel will be greatly missed. I met her through Rostrum when I joined the club and she was a great speaker, mentor and overall a nice person who was always willing to help and share with others.
Love the photos you have put up of her.
Thank you for inviting us to attend the funeral online. Looking forward to be a part of it.
May her soul rest in paradaise.

I was a colleague of Carmel’s for many years when we both worked at the Sisters of Mercy at Bardon and was deeply saddened to hear that she had lost her battle with the illness that she had fought so bravely, for so long. Carmel was a woman completely devoted to her family and her God – a devotion that comforted and maintained her courage throughout her illness. Please know that I will be with you viewing the service today and my thoughts will be with you all throughout the coming months as you come to terms with life without your precious Carmel.

In 2018, I met Carmel through Rostrum Club 17 and I am extremely grateful to have known her for these last couple of years.

When I entered Kenmore library for my first meeting, I remember Carmel warmly welcoming me to the club and putting me at ease among all these people I had never met before. As program coordinator and one of the best speakers I’ve ever heard, Carmel was instrumental to our club’s success.

She was a wonderful friend and she imparted lots of useful knowledge when it comes to speaking and life. I truly admire Carmel’s faith and the love that she gave to others.

When Carmel was working at Bardon, I often saw her, as I lived there at the time and would call at the offices to collect my mail after coming home from working at All Hallows’ School. Carmel always greeted me with a smile. If I was needing to follow up on a business aspect, I knew Carmel would be very helpful. She sorted out many a problem for me.
In recent years I have been at Mercy Associates gatherings and saw Carmel there. She was an inspiration during her illness as she was so positive. Even if she told us days had been hard, she did so with dignity, honesty and courage. I shall miss her presence but also know she is with us in spirit and love. I will keep you Trevor and family in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings.

I am a Sister of Mercy and my name is Kay Lane. Carmel worked with me at Bardon for many years. Carmel was always reliable, willing to assist, friendly to everyone and very devoted to her religion. Carmel was unwell for many years but she constantly tried to keep a brave, courageous front. I was deeply saddened to learn Carmel had gone to her eternal home. She will be greatly missed and although life for her has changed it is not taken away. Trevor and family my sincere condolences for your very sad loss of your much loved Carmel.

When I first met Carmel at Rostrum in Cairns, about 4 or so years ago, I knew she was a special person, with a special quality,. But, until today, because of her humility, I hadn’t realised how special. I’m sure God is with you and your family, today, and always.
