      Dear Hilford family,
The service, just like Phil, pointed us back to Jesus, our true hope, comfort and strength. Phil’s passion for loving God and serving others was lovingly acknowledged. Thank you for sharing and honouring Phil with such vulnerability (and for making the live-stream available).

  • Stan and Jenny Daniels

I too count it a privilege to have had Phil as my GP. Such a Godly man. We thank God for him and remember his family in prayer

  • Neil and Karen Kirby

Thank you for the privilege to share in the celebration of Dr Phil’s life with you all via Live stream. Phil is someone we will always love and cherish as a caring and thoughtful friend, our family doctor and as a Christian mentor who demonstrated through his love the fruits of the spirit. It has been an honour to call him friend and will always be in our hearts. Now you, Anne and family are in our prayers and thoughts now as well as you continue the rest of your journey without him in person, knowing that he will always be with you in heart and spirit. He is now at peace and rest with Jesus- well done good and faithful servant Love and Blessings from Neil and Karen Kirby

It was a privilege to be able to share with my Mum the celebration of my cousin, Phil’s, life. My love, prayers and condolences to Anne and all his family. I always will remember Phil as a kind and compassionate man who always had time for people. His faithfulness to Jesus and the fulfillment of his wish was wonderfully completed by Walter in a beautiful service honouring our Father in Heaven. Thanks again for being able to share this time.

Remembering Phil and thoughts and prayers for his family. I have known Phil all my life growing up in the Church of Christ. And part of my extended family, when my brother in law Simon, married Kylie. He was also my Doctor for many years. I will always remember his love for the Lord, and his servant heart. And his laugh which he would often have. Love to you all during this time, as you and I will miss him, but know he is in a wonderful place.

  • Dr David Risson

If Phil was here now, if he could hear what I say, I’d congratulate him on being a great man, and thank him for being an inspiration and friend. My thoughts are with all of the Hilford family, thinking about the wonderful man Phil was, whose faith has now become sight.

My family’s thoughts are with the Hilford family. Thankyou for the privilege of being a part of Dr Phil’s celebration of life. I have been a patient of his for the past 32 years along with my extended family and we will always remember his kindness and caring towards us all. As his Brother said during the service, a trip to see Dr Phil did indeed the an hour or two but it was always worth it. Not only was he an amazing Doctor but always made you feel that you could confide anything to him and that he was your friend too. He did indeed treat the whole person not just their ailment. In listening to his family share memories of him today, it became even more obvious how much of his life he shared with his patients – love for his family and his God were so obvious as well as the memories and stories he would share with us about his early years as a Doctor. I did laugh when Matthew mentioned the jelly beans – my children never wanted to see another Doctor because in their words “I like Dr Phil and he has jelly beans”. Thank you for sharing these memories with us and we will miss him. I know we will never find another Doctor like him.
