    my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
    I am away next week interstate and am unable to attend Jim’s farewell but will be watching the livestream.

    Dear Margaret and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jim is in heaven now with his mum and dad and Errol. Can you imagine their reunion?
    Stay strong. He is in a better place now. No pain or suffering.

    Dear Margaret,
    I have just watched Jim’s Memorial Service on livestream as I could not be there today.
    I am so grateful that Jim touched my life in bursts across 63 years. Initially he lectured me at Kedron Park Teachers College in 1963-64 and coached me in the College Under 18 Rugby Team. You may remember the match where we were short of players; forfeited the points; and Jim pulled on his boots to help with the numbers and we played the game so that we and our opponents would not miss out on a game. Afterwards he was exhausted but happy.
    Then, when I was teaching at Iona College, Jim Jnr’s enrolment brought us together again and Teams of our Lady also became another connection for Mary and myself. Then I was privileged to act as Secretary to the Qld Catholic Education Commission with Jim as first Independent Chair. A man of sincerity, generosity and integrity.
    He has enriched my life.
    May he rest in peace

    Dear Margaret
    The memorial gathering was a beautiful insight into Jim’s life and the person we knew.I first met Jim when he was managing my application process to Lourdes Hill and in that I learned of his care for detail and professionalism. To have been able to spend so many liturgies at St Mary’s connecting with Jim has been life-giving through his gentleness and quiet dignity.
    Your own words were so touching Margaret. What a great partnership!
    The liturgy was beautiful. While I could not be there, it almost felt as if I was.
