I am so sorry for your loss – I only knew Jeannie through Sue and Sally – she was the wonderful matriach of the McNicol family – she leaves such a legacy of strength, love and compassion throughout her life with you all – something that I know you will treasure.

Gabby again – I forgot to mention – shJeannie made the best Christmas cake – sent to Somalia which Sue and I found in the lost and found of the post office at Mogadishu. We all enjoyed this amazing cake sitting in our courtyard listening to the music from The Man from Snowy River (cassette mind you) in Ceerigabo Sanaag Somaliland 1984??? Thatnk you Jeannie for the taste of home from so far away

Much love and sincere condolences to all of Jeanne’s lovely family. I met and enjoyed the company of Jeanne through Henry and our Olivia, and Annie initially, and it was such a pleasure to be in her company. A woman of substance is how I shall always think of her. Lovely memories.

I only met Jeanie a few times when she was visiting my dear friend and her daughter Kate. Jeanie struck me deeply with her sincerity, deep joy and everlasting humour and sense of mischief. My condolescenses to everyone in the Macnicol family and extended family. It was a privilege to watch the livestream and cry along with you all. Blessed Jeanie.

  • Jenni Burdon

Sending my condolences to Kate and family. Jeannie was an incredible person – warm, kind, clever, funny, inspiring and resilient. It was an honour to have known her and it is clear to see that her traits live on in her offspring. All my love Jen x

Julie and I have just watched the service, (through a mist of tears !) What a lovely farewell to such a beautiful person, one of my all time favourite ladies, over many years. Such a great friend to my late sister Iris. Jeanie would have been so proud of you all today. Such loving words from her adoring family. Her great gift was to make you feel like you were the only person there when talking to her, and always so interested in our family and what we were. Also the greatest Cheesecake maker EVER! Love Keith ( Meggs ) and Julie.

When i think of her i will smell roses and see a guiding light forever before us. How very lucky we all are to have this one touch our lives.
