Jenny always had a smile and it would shine through to touch anyone who saw it. Her colorful hair was like her soul – full of joy and color that brightened up all that were close to her. She was kind and had a huge heart that embraced life and the love of her life, Paul. Sending warmest thoughts to surround You and Matt.

I remember Jenny from school days at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar and it was special that only recently in June, to be able to reconnect with Jenny at the Ipswich Girls’ Grammar, 50th Year Class reunion.
My deepest condolences to her family.
Jenny, you were one of the kindest and most caring people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. You always looked out for everyone, kept in touch, and made people feel valued. Your warmth and generosity will never be forgotten. You’ll be deeply missed by so many. Rest peacefully, Jenny. ❤️

I have such amazing childhood memories spending time with the Hurley family who were all so good to me. My deepest condolences Matt and Paul, Jenny was special to everyone.
We remember a young Jenny and Paul pitching their tent on the site beside us at Middlemount Caravan Park only to leave and return a week later to park their little silver caravan on the site behind us.
Thus became a new adventure for us all for many years to come.

I went to school with Jenny, both at East Ipswich Primary School & Ipswich Girls Grammar School. Jenny was always friendly & had a ready smile. We have kept contact over the decades by mail & then by Facebook as we ventured away from Ipswich. It was lovely to catch up with Jenny at our recent school reunion.
My deepest sympathy to Paul, Matt & extended family.
Thank you for allowing me to attend Jenny’s funeral. I have so many wonderful memories of our time together in Middlemount. My thoughts and prayers are with you both Paul and Matty.
Jenny impacted on so many lives, for her influence on mine l will always be thankful fond memories of her faith in people and community, growing so many of us, condolences Paul and Matt.

Mark and I have lots of lovely memories of Jenny for years of being neighbours in Middlemount. Jenny you will be missed by so many. My condolences to Paul and Matt.
I am feeling deep sadness at Jenny’s passing. In those early days in Middlemount Jenny’s friendship, mentoring and belief in me changed my life. I will forever be grateful to her. Rest peacefully in the knowledge that you changed many lives while you on this earth Jenny.

I first meet Jenny when we lived in Tieri and she in Middlemount through community Development. Through our work and attending positive rural futures conferences we became great working mates collaborating on many successful projects, from the central highlands to CQ as this working relationship continued when I transferred the Nebo.
Jenny brightened up every day, and she was so talented in her quest to make this world better
Jenny will be sadly missed by all that were blessed to know her.

So pleased to have met you through Schoolfriends Reunited tho the majority of us did not go to school together we became a family through the site with so many laughs and good times. A tribute to Jenny Hurley, beloved wife of Paul and devoted mother to Matt.
Of all the memories we hold from our time in Middlemount, it is the memories of people like Jenny that have endured the longest. They remind us that Middlemount was far more than a mining town—it was a community built by people who cared deeply about one another and were committed to making it a better place to live.
Jenny was one of those people. She worked tirelessly to bring people together, creating initiatives that connected residents with one another and with the services they needed. Whether serving on community committees or as an elected local government councillor, Jenny was a passionate advocate who ensured the voices of Middlemount residents were heard and represented. It was a responsibility she embraced with dedication, compassion, and remarkable ability.
To me, Jenny was much more than a respected community leader. She was a treasured friend and colleague—someone who was loyal, dependable, and always had your back. She gave selflessly of her time, her energy, and herself whenever she was called upon, never seeking recognition, only wanting to help others.
Jenny leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and community spirit that will continue to live on in the many lives she touched. She will be remembered with great affection, deep gratitude, and immense respect.
My heartfelt condolences to Paul, Matt, and all of Jenny’s family and friends. May your many wonderful memories bring you comfort in the days ahead, and may Jenny’s remarkable life never be forgotten.
