So sad to hear the news that my lovely Auntie Marg passed away. You cannot say her life wasn’t lived to the full going to be a missionary in PNG with my Uncle Dave when she was so young and emigrating to Australia later in life.

The things I will always remember about her are her wonderful singing voice and that she gave me my first perm when I was about 6!!

She will be sadly missed but will always be remembered for the lovely, kind lady she was inside and out.

Will watch. A wonderful memory of a wonderful couple living the comfort of a wonderful home and a wonderful country to a wild and emerging tribal nation to spread the wonderful news of Christ’s Saving Grace. What a wonderful memory in those images. Heaven surely will a wonderful reunion and celebrations with those who had gone ahead in the Lord. Margaret surely will have a grand reception and a wonderful reunion with her Lord and Savior and with other saints that had gone ahead. Praise God Almighty for sister Margaret and brother David Irish who had given their all for God on this earth, especially in Papua New Guinea. I’m one of the beneficiaries as a result of their coming.

Very sad to hear about Great Auntie Marg, I remember the lovely birthday cards from Aus containing stickers and toy animals from Marg and Dave when we were younger which I loved and giving them both big hugs at my grandparents house when they came to visit, Marg’s hugs were the best! Thinking and praying for all of the family. Love from Jemimah and Ben Romsey, UK. Xx

We have many treasured memories of Auntie Marg but the most vivid was when Auntie Marg, accompanied by my Grandad Bryn on piano, singing “Servant King” at our wedding while we signed the register. Auntie Marg was many things to many people, but above all she was an inspirational, selfless woman of God. She ran the race, kept The Faith and is now absent from the body, but present with The Lord. We pray for Uncle Dave, cousins Karen, Helen, Stephen and their families, that you would all know the Peace of God, that passes all understanding and that He would sustain you all by the power of The Holy Spirit. We will be joining you all live online to celebrate the life of Auntie Marg. With much love, Matt & Claire xx

Mave and I were so sad to hear the passing of my dearest sister Marg. My early memories of Marg were sharing my 3wheel trike, and playing with Tosca our boxer dog.
In her teens I can remember playing the piano while she sang duets with our Mum, they often went to local country churches to sing, then Dad would do the sermon.
In my first job in engineering, I invited a friend called Dave to my home and it was there he met Marg.
The 4 of us toured Scotland by coach and I remember us all walking into an ancient Church in Cromer,. There was an old piano, I played and Marg started to sing-such a deep moving experience.
Marg and I often got in touch, and her final text to me, ended with “I know where I’m going” and she is now with her Saviour and Lord.

So sorry to hear about Great Auntie Marg, I remember all the times we used to receive parcels from AUS from Marg and Dave, with little koala bears, Aussie stickers and Boomerangs. Although I was young I still have some lovely memories. We will be praying for you as a family x

To Dave and family. We knew Marg and Dave in Geelong as part of our St Johns Highton family. Our strongest memory is of Marg’s caring love and support of our family. I would treasure our chats as we sat in the kitchen, the way she would listen and pray for us.
Roger enjoyed joining with Marg in the little 8:am music group.
Truly a good and faithful servant.
    Love from Roger and Sue

Sending our heartfelt condolences to you all.
Margaret was no pushover but she had a very sweet and kind spirit and sang like an angel. She will be missed by so many of the lives that she touched.
She had a servants heart and has gone to her great reward.

Your mum was always your favourite ‘Hello’ and hardest goodbye!
But you will always have that piece of your heart that smiles so brightly whenever you think of her.
    So sorry for your loss.

My husband and I were privileged to know Dave and Margaret as co-laborers in PNG. Margaret gave me numerous perms. It was so good to have a professional do your hair on the mission field. Our families had great times together. I’m sure she has met many who have gone before, sharing memories and praising God. The Schaad family sends their love and prayers to David and Karen, Helen and Stephen. Be comforted with God’s peace.

I always enjoyed time with Margaret. We sang together at church. Talked and shared. Although I haven’t seen her for a long time I valued her kind friendship and easy manner. I’m sad she is not in this earthly realm but joyful in the knowledge that the heavenly realm is her ultimate one : with our Lord and Saviour.

It was a such a blessing to worship with Margaret & David at St John’s in Highton Victoria prior to their move north. Margaret was such a joy and had such a heart for ministry. Very generous in every way, with her time, warm spirit and resources (particularly her support of CU Ministry at Deakin). She was filled with hope and confidence in Christ. And it is this assurance that now comforts us. And we feel keenly for David who will grieve her company & fellowship.
God bless you richly Margaret (& David). Stewart & Alison.

Purvi and I were deeply saddened to hear about Margaret’s passing. Her resilience and unwavering faith were truly inspiring. I will always cherish her warmth and hospitality. We feel fortunate to have known such a wonderful and loving person.

I am blessed to have lovely memories of Margaret throughout my childhood. From an early age she was always there, firstly for my mum through her illness and then always looking out for me even when I was too young to really appreciate. A birthday card every year usually with some Australian stickers that I just adored and an update of her and David’s wonderful adventures. Through to later in my childhood on the day trips I used to go on with Margaret David and Karena, I will always treasure a wonderful day trip Margaret and David took Karena and I on to South Sea aquarium and beach, the laughter and fun we had. Whilst this may be the last time I saw them in person and this was over 10 years ago this was not the last time we spoke, the long text message updates and photo exchanges will be something I will look back on. Mow an adult I treasure the thought and time she always put in to check in on me and my life.

Thank you Margaret for your service to this world, for your kindness and love to everyone you came into contact with, a beautiful send off and service for a truly beautiful lady!

Sending all my love to the entire family! She is now with those who we have already left us and reuniting with them sharing all her amazing memories she had on this earth.

    Dear David and family,
We are so sorry that we missed the memorial service yesterday.
Thank-you for allowing us to access the service today.
We feel so privileged to have known you and Margaret, mainly through Dave’s parents in England. We will not forget your’s and Margaret’s hospitality when we visited England in 1985 with Ruth & Sarah.
It was a pleasure to welcome you both last year to Qld. & only wish that we had been able to see more of you.
The Lord bless you all, & may you know His peace and comfort now and in the days that lie ahead.
    With our love & prayers,
    Dave and Diana

May God continue to bless you David and family.
    With love

Marg was a fellow member at Kingsland Baptist Church in the early ’60s when I was a student in Southampton. We all fancied her but she was spoken for! Many have commented on her beautiful singing voice – truly angelic. In the ’70s I was a member of Shepperton Baptist Church where we were all keen supporters of Dave & Marg’s ministry in PNG. Dave, you’ve been such an inspiration and comfort to so many; may you know the Lord’s continuing comfort at this time.
