A privilege indeed to have known this man – Mr Michael ‘Mick’ Brophy for nigh on 48 years.

How warm, welcoming and patient he was – whilst greeting and making a ‘gaggle of schoolgirls’ school friends, of his daughter Maree – feel at home, and so comfortable in his and Mary’s (Mrs Brophy’s) house. Over so many years of our youth and beyond.

A kind man, a gentle man, a man of the peaceful joys of home, hearth, family, friends, life and laughter, tilling and tending the land and an especially deep love and loyalty to his homeland Ireland. Also a gracious fondness for his adopted home, Australia.

Thank you Mr Brophy, for your calm, peaceful demeanor and genuine example of a ‘real Family man’ who was pleasant and kind to all.

Even when I couldn’t understand your accent 🙂 one could tell, you were always a gracious host and a good person.

Thankfully Maree acted as interpretor ha!

What an Honour to attend your ‘Farewell’. To hear of your life, how special you were, how deeply cherished by your family and friends.

‘I raise a glass to you Sir’.

To Mary (Mrs Brophy) Maree, Colleen, Tamara, ‘Mike’ his ‘son-in-law’ and extended Family – my sincere Condolences at this sad time.

We have as comfort, the Promise from Heaven ‘We will see our loved ones again’.

What a lovely Reunion that will be.

With much Respect to a fine man.

    Your friend, Caz F.
