I just heard this news. I am really saddened. I used to teach pE at Dakabin state school with Richard. He was a great man. He mentored me as a young teacher. He lived his gymnastics, and fitness coaching. He always loved taking his class out for relay training. I am so sad to this news.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time. I know Richard was a beloved member of your family and will be sorely missed. I have memories of Richard from my childhood as a life-long friend of Michelle and at this time I am reminded of our time, all of us at Expo 88.

Our sincerest condolences to you, Lyndal & your family on the passing of your wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, dedicated Tutor & overall, such a warm hearted & beautiful soul. It was an absolute privilege to have Richard enter our lives, not only as our Daughter’s Maths Tutor, but he was to become a friend who had so much knowledge & such a wonderful sense of humour.

    We will miss him dearly.

Please know you & your family are in our thoughts, Lyndal.

    All our Love,
    Rachael, Marc, Courtney & Tyler

To Lyndal and all the family, our sincere condolences. We have very fond memories of Richard and Lyndal’s visits to our family in the UK, and of how Richard took such an interest in our three boys, especially Dominic with his love of maths. Richard will be remembered here, and I’m sure over there, for his great knowledge, wisdom and energy. Best wishes to you all.
    With love,
Cath, Matthew, Alexander, Dominic and Hugo Wernham
