I’d like to thank him so much for everything he had done for me in my life. He had such an inspiration to my life. He has made me such a better person and made me love my school. He would be so nice and kind and always push me for the best. Whilst tutoring we would always have a good conversation but would always eventually lead back to school. when I was told by mum that he wouldn’t be tutoring me anymore I know I was at a great loss. The hours I spent with Tom will never be forgotten by me in my life. I will never forget you. But I am glad he had lived his life to the fullest. Tom meant so much to me As a tutor and as a role model. He was a true hero in my eyes. I know he isn’t reading this right now but I’d like to hope he’s somewhere looking down upon me guiding me to do my best. whenever I’m doing my school work I will always here his voice pushing me. I will always remember his cheeky smile. He was the true definition of a great man. It is a true credit to his mum and dad. I am truely devastated. He will always have a special place in my heart, he meant so much to me and many other. Tom you will always have a place in my heart and I know your looking down upon me you were a true fighter role model and a good man thank you so much. I will truely miss you forever. i can’t believe this is real and keep praying it isn’t. Because the world has lost the greatest man I’ve ever meet. So kind such an old sole. He related to me so much even though of our age gap. As I struggle to write this I know you are in a better place and for filling your dream.Thank you so much tom thank you for the way you changed my life. You came into my life when I was at the deepest part of my schooling life when I hated it and you changed it. Thank you so much mr Tom Hardyman for your life and for the way you had changed lives and how much you meant to your family and friends.
I wish the best to his family at this sad time.
    Regards
    Edmund

It was truly wonderful to have met Tom and I have wonderful happy memories of Tom and his mates. I feel very privileged to have shared and enjoyed the times we had discovering Biology at St Patrick’s. He is and always will be a true inspiration to others, his optimism and fighting spirit. I know he will be missed terribly and I wish peace to his friends and family during this difficult time. I feel he will be watching over them from now on. May he rest in peace. Ann-Louise Newman

Tom I only met you once, at the Hughes home, kindly doing a favourite treats run for my niece Jess, while she studied the night away. You let Carl and I sit in your car and that gave us a thrill. I wish I could have got to know you more but I do know that you were so loved and an inspiration to so many and will be so sadly missed. Shine bright from heaven young man just like you did on earth – in spite of all the adversity. A life lived well is a precious gift. May you rest in peace and may your family be comforted by knowing what an amazing boy they raised. Much love from Jess’ Aunty Sue

Dear Hardyman Family and Friends… thank you for the opportunity to share in this service celebrating the life of your amazing son, brother and mate (albeit frustratingly from a distance at this strange time). What an amazingly bright, talented, passionate, tough and much-loved young man you raised and shared your life with. How rightfully proud you must be and shall always remain…His lust for life, grit and generosity of spirit was, and remains, inspiring…both to his nearest and dearest and to those of us who were yet to get to know him like we would have loved to. There is no depth to the sympathy we feel for you all at this time. Love and mercies now and always. The Hertweck Family xo

    Dear Tom’s family,
Words cannot express how sad and tragic it is for you to lose your Tom; someone so beautiful and so young and so capable, and who had his whole life ahead of him. I taught Tom English in Year 11 and 12 at St Patrick’s College and believed he would be okay because he was always so strong, so resilient and had such a fighting spirit. Tom was in classes with my son Isaac (Cornish) for many years at St Pat’s. Tom was an “A” student then and of course, all through his university studies he was truly outstanding. He had so much to offer the world.
I am so pleased that Tom was able to live some of his dreams – to (almost) complete his mechanical engineering degree, to have a McLaren, to work with F1 drivers and cars, to travel, and to have a beautiful girlfriend.
I am thankful to have known Tom, and I am heartbroken that he is gone. He was an amazing young man.
My sincere condolences to you, his family, as you come to terms with life without Tom. It is so hard to believe. May God’s love hold you and keep you strong during this devastating time. And may Tom rest in peace.
I am sending my thoughts and prayers for you now and into the future,
    Take care
    Regards

    Dear Ros,
Val has passed the sad news regarding Tom.
There are no platitudes that work satisfactorily in this circumstance, we cannot imagine the pain you and your family must be going through – how utterly cruel life is?
For ourselves, we are so pleased at least we got to meet Tom and our precious memories of him when Peter suggested he drive our Aston Martin down the ‘Mountain route” from Malaney, Peter recalls Tom’s face was a picture! (I think he videoed him!).
I don’t think we are telling you anything you don’t know when we say what a lovely boy he was, inside and out, our thoughts stumble and stall as we try to fathom just why such a lovely soul should be taken from us?
Ros, if there is anything we can do for the family, please let us know?
When you are ready, we look forward to meeting up with you again, the only advice I can offer is; Look back with gratitude and forward with courage.
With fondest regards and much love

    Doreen and Peter

The Silver Brumby are some of our most treasured memories.

From settling the kids at bedtime and monitoring them via sleep monitors, encouraging them towards the top of Mt Kosciuszko, watching them set the dinner table or allowing them out alone at Thredbo Village for New Years Eve, Tom was courageous, determined, reliable, caring and fun.

It has been a privilege and delight to watch him grow into a remarkable young man. He has enriched our lives and we will remember him forever.

Paul, Leanne and Chloe – we hope the wonderful memories of Tom help you over the difficult times. Our love and support, always from Thierry, Laura, Jake and Natalie

A beautiful service to say goodbye to an amazing young man, taken far too soon.
I only knew Tom through his Dad, but over the past 4 years I have come to feel like I have personally known him, hearing Paul talk about Tom and how his resilience, strength and at times stubbornness had refused to let this disease rule his life. The pure pride, admiration and love in his dads eyes when he spoke of Tom was clear to see.
Paul, I know I speak for a lot of your colleagues at Urbis when I say that Toms story has inspired and touched us all over the years. We have ridden your highs, and we have watched you suffer through the lows, and our hearts have ached for you and your family.
Tom will always be remembered, by those who personally knew him, but also by those of us who just knew of his story.
    Gone but not forgotten.
    Sincere condolences to you all

We met Tom as a 14 year old through Southern Cross Tigers Basketball Club. Even at that young age, he stood out for his maturity, compassion and commitment to do his very best in each game. As we grew to know Leanne and Paul, we could see where Tom got his kind nature from. He has left a lasting impression on us.
Our prayers are with you, Paul, Leanne, Chloe and family.

What a beautiful service and tribute to Tom’s life. Although we only met Tom once, we have heard so many wonderful and inspiring things about him from Luke. Well done on raising such a wonderful young man. As parents of a son with similar interests and dreams, our hearts are broken for you. Thank you for your support and encouragement to Luke and the QUT Motorsport team. We pray that you may draw strength and peace from the wonderful memories you have of your son.

My heart goes out to you. Tom was evidently an extraordinary young man, and right now losing him must be unbearably difficult. But you obviously share so many wonderful, happy and inspiring memories to take you on into the future.
Although I didn’t know Tom personally, Jennie – his Granny – has always spoken of him with great pride, as she does about all her precious grandchildren. And Tom was fortunate to have been part of that strong and special family.
With much love from us all,
